By-Law 83/25 Opposition

The Winnipeg River Development Plan (By-Law 83/25) plays an important role in shaping how growth and development are managed within the Bird River region. As planning policies evolve over time, BRCOA remains committed to representing community perspectives and supporting responsible development that considers both environmental sustainability and the long-term wellbeing of the Bird River area.

Monitoring Water Quality

As surrounding land use and industrial activity continue to evolve, maintaining a clear understanding of water quality remains essential. Through transparency, science-based monitoring and long-term stewardship, the Bird River Cottage Owners Association (BRCOA) is committed to helping protect the health of this important waterway for future generations.

Community Watch

The Bird Watch program helps support a safe, connected and informed community by providing an extra set of eyes while many properties are unoccupied. Through volunteer participation and community awareness, the program helps identify concerns early and encourages neighbours to look out for one another while helping protect the wellbeing of the Bird River area.

VORR: Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations

The Bird River Cottage Owners Association (BRCOA) participates in the VORR process to help ensure the perspectives and concerns of cottage owners and residents are represented in discussions related to development and land use in the area. Through informed advocacy and ongoing engagement, BRCOA supports responsible decision-making that considers both environmental sustainability and the long-term interests of the community.
