FAQs
Who does the Bird River Cottage Owners Association (BRCOA) represent?
BRCOA represents the collective interests of its members, who are property owners - both seasonal and permanent residents - in the Bird River area.
How much does membership cost?
For 2026, a new fee assessment was introduced for both current and new members. Membership is $25, and will be reassessed in May, 2027.
How long does my membership last?
Membership remains active as long as a member is in good standing under the BRCOA constitution. For administrative purposes, BRCOA operates on a membership year from May long weekend to May long weekend.
Can I advertise my business on your site?
Our aim is to be a hub for the Bird River area - and that includes trusted partners that our members can count on when they need a hand. Contact us at info@brcoa.ca for more information.
Are donations to BRCOA tax-deductible?
No. BRCOA is an incorporated non-profit association, not a registered charity, and is therefore unable to issue charitable tax receipts for donations. If you are a business interested in supporting BRCOA through sponsorship, partnership or future advertising opportunities, we would be happy to connect with you.
Where does my donation go?
Donations to BRCOA help support community initiatives, communication improvements, water testing efforts, future community enhancement projects, events, and the ongoing work of the Association. As BRCOA continues to grow and evolve, donations may also help support future projects identified by the community, such as beautification initiatives, gathering spaces, safety improvements and other enhancements to the Bird River area.
Can I volunteer or get more involved?
Absolutely. BRCOA is a volunteer-driven organization and community involvement is an important part of what makes the Association successful. If you are interested in volunteering, supporting community initiatives or helping with future events and projects, we would love to hear from you.
Can I make a donation in honour or memory of someone?
Yes. BRCOA welcomes donations made in honour or memory of loved ones who have had a connection to the Bird River community. As the Association continues to grow, future opportunities for commemorative community initiatives or recognition projects may also be explored.
Do I need to be a BRCOA member to donate?
No. While BRCOA membership helps support the Association’s ongoing work, donations are welcome from anyone who wishes to support the Bird River community and future BRCOA initiatives.
